Starting in the military, I've been getting dirty and working with my hands and tools most of my adult life. Inside and out, I've remodeled houses wall-to-wall and performed the filthiest, most exhausting manual labor and clean-up projects you can imagine. I'm your go-to guy when you have to get it done, but dread the thought of doing it.
I love to work and my heart bleeds for anyone who doesn't. It's a time-consuming and inescapable part of life, but properly leveraged, a life-long source of pride and confidence (and a phenomenal form of exercise - mental and physical).
A fanatic for challenges, new experiences, and tasks of any size or scope. A perfectionist by nature, if I can't complete the project to your satisfaction and mine, I will likely decline the opportunity. I have a trailer, two trucks, and a comprehensive arsenal of well-organized, professional-grade tools with which I can accomplish many property improvement projects.
Although I completed my tour on active duty over 20 years ago, I still credit the U.S. Marine Corps ('and Mom') with much of my character and life skills. In the Corps, we learn how to think fast, move fast and make things happen. We hold ourselves to an elevated standard of conduct, integrity and performance that stays with us long after we shed the uniform. The sense of accomplishment that you enjoy every day in the Service is hard to duplicate in civilian life, but I never stop trying.
Customers often ask, "How did you get into 'this'?" In Magoffin County, KY and virtually every other rural or mountain community of yesteryear, most men inherited or acquired an inclination toward tool collecting, 'do-it-yourselfness', shade tree auto repair, improvisational carpentry ('cobbling'), or in my Father's case, fine woodworking and furniture-building. Since I was old enough to swing a hammer, Dad and I have tinkered in the workshop and tackled household fix-it projects together, from making Shaker boxes and lathe-turned wooden bowls, to trash compactor repair and beyond. Almost daily in my work, I find myself 'doing something that Dad would do.'
Debt-free. Excellent credit. No criminal record, substance abuse, or history of unemployment. Non-smoker. Lifelong health, fitness and yoga devotee. Never married, no kids. Diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome. Among other things, I appreciate good bourbon, firm handshakes, classic rock 'n' roll and humble, down-to-Earth people.
Good schools and great parents - had to brush and floss every night. Graduate of the UK Gatton College of Business (2002) and U.S. Marine Corps Officer Candidate School (2001). I do not gamble, draw SSI, or live with Mom and Dad. Completely self-supporting, I take my work seriously. Fortunately, my 'work' is also one of my favorite hobbies.
You will appreciate my work ethic and attitude ("Giving up is always the last resort"). I do not take breaks or leave a job-site for any non-essential reason. Focused, strong-willed and fiercely independent; Most customers would probably say that I am "all business" or "not a 'people person'." Struggling over a name for my new business, I asked a loyal client for suggestions. He said, "You're the 'get it done' guy."
I do not encourage or initiate non-professional behavior or dialogue with any customer or person on a job site before, during or after a project - no exceptions.
My top 3 goals on your job site are
1). Get It Done,
2). Earn your future business, and
3). A good testimonial or referral to people you know.

"We have had bad experiences with other contractors and were
hesitant to hire another, but Morgan is the guy you wish you could
find. Very honest (returned extra materials and gave us the money), extremely hard working (you wouldn't believe how fast he's moving after 10 hours outside), and reliable. If he says he will be there and get it done, it will happpen. No question. No oversight needed. Incredible guy (and a nice guy too). We have done several jobs with him - all exactly what you want, with no worry. I wish someone had told me to use him years ago."
